Rain returns Tuesday across Arkansas
A stormy pattern is taking shape across Arkansas this week, but it’s not a washout. According to Todd Yakoubian, meteorologist from the Arkansas Storm Team, a round of rain and thunderstorms will sweep through the region on Tuesday afternoon and evening, bringing scattered downpours and the possibility of thunderstorms. However, Wednesday offers a brief dry window, with clouds lingering but precipitation tapering off for much of the day.
More showers likely Thursday
The rain chances climb again on Thursday, as another system pulls in more moisture from the Gulf. This will lead to increased cloud cover and another shot of scattered storms, particularly during the afternoon and evening hours. While no widespread flooding is expected, localized heavy rain could lead to minor ponding on roads.
Weekend outlook: a beautiful break
By the weekend, drier air finally sweeps across the state, and the weather turns beautiful. Expect highs in the upper 70s°F (around 25°C) and overnight lows dropping into the low 50s°F (around 10°C). Humidity levels will be noticeably lower, bringing crisp, pleasant air—a welcome change after the soggy midweek stretch.
