Saturday will be the hottest day of the weekend, with afternoon highs around 93°F (34°C) and a heat index reaching 99°F (37°C). Expect mostly sunny skies with some patchy cloud cover, especially in the morning hours. By afternoon, skies should clear, leaving oppressive heat and heavy humidity in place.
While the chance of rain is low—just 10%, it’s not entirely ruled out. FOX 4 meteorologists will continue tracking radar in case pop-up storms develop late in the day.
Sunday: Still hot, storms begin to build
Sunday brings more heat, with temperatures again hitting 92°F (33°C) and a sticky heat index similar to Saturday. But the atmosphere begins to shift as storm chances rise by nightfall.
By Sunday evening, there’s a 20% chance of storms, which climbs significantly to 70% overnight. Severe storms are possible, particularly after sunset, so those planning evening events or overnight travel should stay alert.
Memorial Day: Cooler but stormy
Monday, Memorial Day, brings a notable drop in temperature with a high of just 81°F (27°C)—a refreshing change, but accompanied by the highest likelihood of rain during the long weekend.
There’s currently a 70% chance of showers and storms, especially in the morning. A second round of rain may move through later in the day, potentially disrupting any afternoon or evening outdoor plans.
Storm activity and travel outlook
If you’re leaving Dallas-Fort Worth this weekend, most severe weather will likely stay in Southwest Texas, although storm activity could affect areas like Houston and Galveston on Friday night. Still, localized storms and delays remain a possibility, especially for return travel on Monday evening.
