Hot and sunny Monday across North Texas

As of Monday, July 1, 2025, the Dallas-Fort Worth area is experiencing another hot and humid day, with mostly clear skies and a high around 94°F (34°C). The heat index will make it feel closer to 100°F (38°C) through the afternoon. Winds are coming in from the south at about 10 mph, offering little relief from the oppressive heat.

Chance of isolated storms late Monday night

By late evening, a weakening line of storms currently moving through West Texas and southern Oklahoma could push into North Texas. This frontal boundary is expected to reach the Red River late in the night and may trigger scattered showers or isolated thunderstorms between 10 p.m. and 3 a.m., primarily affecting the northern metro area.

Rainfall totals will likely remain light, with less than 0.10 inches expected in most locations. However, gusty winds and isolated lightning strikes remain possible. No severe weather is anticipated at this time.

A dry end to a dry June

This weak overnight system arrives as June ends notably drier than average for the region. Typically, the Dallas-Fort Worth area records over 3.5 inches (89 mm) of rain in June, but this year totals barely exceeded 2 inches (51 mm). The first half of the month brought some wet days, but the last two weeks have been markedly dry.

Forecast outlook through Friday

Tuesday will start off warm and muggy, with partly cloudy skies and a low of 77°F (25°C). Afternoon highs are expected to reach 93°F (34°C), with a continued 20% chance of isolated storms.

Wednesday brings similar conditions — partly cloudy, hot, and humid, with temperatures ranging from 76°F (24°C) in the morning to 96°F (36°C) in the afternoon. Light southerly winds between 5 and 10 mph will persist.

Thursday and Friday are forecast to be hot and mostly dry, with highs in the mid-90s°F (34–35°C) and lows around 78°F (26°C). Winds will strengthen slightly to 10–15 mph, continuing from the south, keeping the humid air mass in place over North Texas.
