CLEVELAND (WJW) – After a soggy stretch, the rain has finally moved out, leaving behind mostly clear skies across the region. Temperatures are gradually falling, slipping from the low 70s into the upper 60s as the evening progresses. It’s still a bit muggy, and some areas — especially those that saw earlier rainfall — could wake up to patchy fog by morning.
Looking up at the night sky, July’s full moon, known as the Buck Moon, will reach its peak on Thursday night, offering a beautiful celestial show if clouds stay away.
But get ready — the heat is about to crank up. On Friday, highs will climb into the upper 80s, and the added humidity will make it feel even warmer, with heat indices in the low to mid 90s by the afternoon. A brief shower or isolated downpour can’t be ruled out, but overall, rain chances look minimal for the day.
Saturday is expected to be the hottest day of the week. Afternoon highs could hit around 90 degrees, and with high humidity, it could feel more like 95 to 100 degrees. Heat safety will become a concern, especially during the peak heat of the day.
By Sunday, a shift in the pattern will bring some relief from the heat, but it will also bring unsettled weather. A cold front is expected to move through Northeast Ohio, likely sparking showers and thunderstorms. The timing of the front’s arrival will determine the strength and intensity of those storms.
Keep an eye on the forecast heading into the weekend, and be prepared for both intense heat and a stormy finish to the week.
