Southeast Michigan is under a marginal (Level 1 of 5) threat for severe weather this Saturday evening, as warm, humid air fuels unstable conditions across the Metro Detroit area. The Storm Prediction Center has slightly downgraded the original storm risk, but thunderstorms capable of downpours, flash flooding, and damaging wind gusts remain a concern through 10 p.m. local time.
Scattered storms are developing across Detroit, Warren, Ann Arbor, and other parts of Southeast Michigan, with heavy rain leading to ponding and localized flooding on major roadways. Motorists and anyone using bikes or scooters should exercise caution, as slick surfaces could become hazardous quickly. Outdoor plans—like picnics, barbecues, or community events—may be disrupted by the unpredictable nature of these late-day storms.
As the evening progresses, showers will gradually weaken, with activity mostly ending after midnight. Overnight lows will dip into the mid-60s°F (around 18°C) north of I-69, while Detroit, Monroe, and Warren hold steady near 70°F (21°C).
Sunday will bring a refreshing shift. Humidity levels will drop noticeably, replaced by crisp, comfortable air and sunny breaks. Expect afternoon highs in the upper 70s°F to low 80s°F (25–27°C). The evening looks ideal for outdoor relaxation, with mostly clear skies and overnight temperatures near 60°F (16°C).
Looking ahead, Monday and Tuesday will be sunny and pleasant, perfect for gardening, patio dinners, or a jog through local parks. Highs will land in the low 80s°F (27°C), while overnight lows drop into the upper 50s to mid-60s°F (15–18°C).
Wednesday, however, brings a return to heat and humidity. Temperatures will soar into the mid-90s°F (35°C) under mostly sunny skies, prompting an early taste of August-like heat.
By Thursday and Friday, storm chances will increase again as moisture builds. Expect highs in the low to mid-90s°F (33–35°C) with afternoon thunderstorms possible, which could interfere with commutes and outdoor plans across Metro Detroit.
