Dallas is bracing for a stormy entrance into June, as a volatile weather pattern is expected to bring heavy rain, hail, and damaging winds across North Texas, particularly through Dallas, Tarrant, Ellis, and Johnson counties.

Sunday kicks off with severe weather alerts

On Sunday evening, the National Weather Service issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning, which remained in effect until 8:20 p.m., followed by a Severe Thunderstorm Watch that extended to 10 p.m. for Dallas and Tarrant counties. Residents in North Oak Cliff reported weather sirens as storms rolled in, signaling the threat of hail and torrential downpours.

Morning storms continue across North and Central Texas

A line of thunderstorms is forecast to sweep southward through eastern North and Central Texas Monday morning, pushing through the Dallas-Fort Worth area with frequent lightning, small hail, and damaging gusts. Areas south of Dallas-Fort Worth and north of Waco may face even stronger storm cells, with risks of large hail and severe wind damage.

Temperature trends: rising heat and increasing storm chances

Sunday’s highs topped out in the upper 80s°F (around 31°C), with overnight lows dipping to the low 70s°F (22–23°C). The heat intensifies on Monday, as temperatures climb into the low 90s°F (32–33°C) beneath partly sunny skies.

By Tuesday and Wednesday, storm chances increase, with a 30–40% probability of thunderstorms, especially during the afternoon and evening hours. Highs will remain in the mid to upper 80s°F (29–31°C), and storms could bring hail, strong wind gusts, and localized flooding.

Extended forecast: unsettled weather through midweek

Tuesday brings a 30% chance of storms with a high of 88°F (31°C) and a low of 75°F (24°C), as southerly winds strengthen. Wednesday and Thursday see continued storm risks at 40%, with highs around 85°F (29°C) and muggy overnight lows in the low 70s°F (21–23°C).

Friday could offer a brief reprieve, with a lower 20% chance of storms and temperatures near 90°F (32°C) under partly sunny skies.

The early June weather in Dallas will be defined by unstable atmospheric conditions, setting the stage for a week of warm, storm-prone days.
