KANSAS CITY, Missouri — As of early Monday, July 7, scattered thunderstorms that affected areas south of Kansas City are gradually tapering off this evening, leaving behind a partly cloudy and warm night across the Kansas City metro. Temperatures will dip slightly, with overnight lows ranging between 70°F and 75°F (da 21°C a 24°C), under light east-northeast winds around 5 to 10 mph.

Forecast for Monday: Muggy air and scattered thunderstorms possible

Monday, July 7, will start partly cloudy and humid, with daytime highs reaching around 87°F (31°C). There’s a slight 20% chance of isolated thunderstorms through the daytime hours, but that chance increases to 40% after sunset, as moisture and instability build into the region. Winds will shift from the southeast at 5 to 15 mph, helping to maintain a sticky and unsettled feel throughout the day.

Tuesday: More humidity and a better shot at storms

By Tuesday, July 8, the humid pattern continues, with a notable 40% chance of thunderstorms throughout the day. Temperatures will remain near seasonal averages with a low of 67°F (19°C) and a high close to 86°F (30°C). Winds will be light and variable, though gusty conditions are possible near any storm cells, which could be briefly strong in some pockets of the area.

Wednesday: Sticky heat and slight storm chances

Wednesday, July 9, brings continued warmth and tropical-level humidity. Expect partly cloudy skies with a slight 20% risk for spotty thunderstorms, mainly in the afternoon or early evening. Temperatures will climb again to a high near 88°F (31°C), with morning lows around 72°F (22°C). Winds will blow from the east-southeast at 5 to 15 mph, maintaining the warm, humid air mass across Missouri and eastern Kansas.
