GRAND RAPIDS, Michigan (WOOD) — A few scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms could still pop up across West Michigan this Saturday, although much of the region will likely enjoy stretches of dry and calmer weather.
Spotty thunderstorm development remains possible throughout the day, especially during the afternoon and evening hours. While there’s a chance for a strong storm or two in the area, the greater risk for severe weather lies to the east, where the National Weather Service has issued a Level 2 (slight) risk for parts of Eastern Michigan.
The main threat with any stronger storms will be gusty winds, which could lead to localized damage in areas where storms intensify.
Looking ahead to Sunday, a cold front moving through will help clear out the lingering humidity and bring back sunshine, setting up a more comfortable finish to the weekend.
